A method of a lightning change
This technique may be used in order to get rid of various useless and unfavourable behaviours and reactions, even the unconscious ones.
Its name comes from the sound produced by something that is moving very fast (swishhhhhhhh), in our case these are pictures.
Perhaps, you have a habit that you would like to get rid of (it may be something easy 8211; nails biting, poking in your nose, etc).
Or maybe you react reflectively in many situations and then you regret it?
If you know, want you want we can start!
Focus on your useless behaviour, it is important to represent it in a proper way.
If you want to change the way you react in a given situation, imagine your first thought that makes you behave like that.
If you want to change a habit that is generated automatically, unconsciously, think about the first signal which tells you that you are doing it again (when you poke in your nose how do you recognize it? Is it a feeling, or something that you see? What’s the first information?)
It is very important because we will be changing the reaction through this signal.
Now, create the picture representing this situation, devote as much time to it as you need.
As you have this picture, put it aside for a while and think what will change when you get rid of this behaviour.
Imagine that you a better person and that significant changes have occurred on the level of your identity and values. Create a very positive picture, it can be even exaggerated as it is important that it has a strong influence on you and generate a nice state.
The entire time think about this picture, grant it with proper enhancing submodalities.
And now, diminish this new picture, call back the old one and place the new one in one of the corners of the old one.
Attention – be prepared...
In a moment, you will do the following thing; when you hear the signal swish, enlarge the small picture as fast as you can, diminishing in the same time the old one until it becomes invisible and you will see only the new one.
Do it now!
swish
And one more time
swish
swish
Do it several times, faster and faster (remember about the sound)
swish
swish
swish
And faster, let the new program be imprinted on your mind.
swish
swish
swish
Remember to do it fast, as only in this way the change occurs. After a several repetitions you may encounter some problems with bringing the old picture back, but do not spare too much time for it as the enlargement of the small one is much more important.
Do it one more time (as fast as you can)
swish
swish
swish
See, what Steve Andreas considers the most important while practising this technique:
And now you can pass on to the test and check how much your reaction has changed when you think about that unfavourable behaviour.
